Kebab-e-Kela Recipe

Ingredients of Kebab-e-Kela

312 grams banana
2 and 1/2 teaspoon sendha namak
4 pinches chilli powder
1 and 1/4 black cardamom
2 and 1/2 green chilli
3/4 inch ginger
1/3 cup and 1 and 1/2 tablespoon buckwheat (kuttu)
2 and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 handful coriander leaves
3/4 tablespoon coriander powder

1 and 1/4 cup ghee

How to make Kebab-e-Kela

Step 1
To prepare this recipe, start by taking the raw bananas and peel them. Using a clean chopping board, dice them up and then chop up the coriander leaves and green chillies.

Step 2
Now, take a steamer basket with very little water and steam the bananas, black cardamom, and ginger till they are soft and cooked. Allow them to cool down.

Step 3
When they are cool enough, mash the bananas and add all the spices along with the buckwheat flour, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Mix them well to form a dough. Finally, add in the green chillis and fold it in the dough.

Step 4
Divide the dough into small balls and shape them into cylindrical tikkis. Now, take a pan over medium flame and heat a little ghee in it. When the ghee is hot enough, place the kebabs on the pan and fry them till they turn brown from both sides.

Step 5
Transfer the fried kebabs to a plate lined with absorbent paper and then to a serving plate. Enjoy the delicious Kebab-e-Kela!
